Merry Christmas every one.
The end of the year is a good time to look back, and I did that. This year, I started to upload my freebies here at RenderHub. First, many thanks to those that rated, liked and did renders with my freebies, I sincerely appreciate it all.
Currently, I have 8 freebies on, and I still have a lot more that I can put on as freebie. These 8 freebies have now 1850 downloads in total but only 125 likes, so 1725 downloaded things that they don't like. Only 6.8% likes my freebies, and this is not motivating me to put more freebies on. In other words, I will not put freebies on anymore. Only when the likes will be reach a higher level, I will think about it again.
I think I am not the only one here that get not many likes on their freebies. When people like (clicking the like button) that of what we do, it motivates us to do more. If you like our freebies, do it, click on this like button!

Likes are one thing, but it's possible to like a product without having bought, downloaded and tested it.
I think it's a shame that there are so many purchases of free products, which are sometimes not downloaded, but above all very few Reviews or comments.
Maybe they're just not installed or installed and not used!

Likes are not for that. We don't need to download, install and test them to like the products or freebies. Why can we like a product that we haven't bought, and why the like button is on the product page?
With likes, we can show others, this is an interesting item to look at it and maybe useful for others too.

No more freebies, without rating the other products first
So the freebie hunter will at least see it

Sat, Dec 28, 2024Sorry, but I wouldn't be the winner, but I was hoping all creators that put their products and freebie on here at RenderHub and that they get the likes that they deserve for their creations.
On the one hand, you're right: it can be a little frustrating for CCs to weigh up downloads, likes and ratings - and yes, I know from personal experience how motivating likes and ratings can be ....
... but offensively fishing for "Likes" is like hanging a sausage around your neck so that the neighbor's dog likes you (although I couldn't imagine that Fido would like me with my sausages: I'm a vegetarian
I just had a look at your profile / gallery / store: it all looks really good and something to be proud of, doesn't it?
So my tip in this case: be happy about what you have and get ... and don't focus on what could be (because that will never come). The users who recognize and respect your work will continue to stick with you - and with every new project there may be a few more.

I like to give likes to products/freebies when they appeal to me, when it is obvious how much care, soul and love has gone into the detail (as far as this is recognizable on the promos) and / or to honor the work and performance of the CC.
Since I do not search for products / freebies but become aware of them through the gallery, it could be that you have never received a Like from me. But that's not because of your products, but because of me

Don't be so discouraged, at least for a good chunk of them, the simple fact that they considered downloading is a sign that they do like your work. Perhaps a simple mechanism can be implemented (by Deviantart) by which they require feedback/evaluation/review before downloading. Pushee-Ri and guy91600 got a point. Happy New Year.

Somehow I missed your freebies even though I check freebies every day (I visit RenderHub multiple times throughout the day). You have a lot of cool items. I downloaded and installed the log bench- it's definitely worth the 5 stars I gave it.
I can understand how a lack of feedback can be discouraging, but don't let it deter you. Your products show imagination and quality and are assets to the 3D community.
