My Freebies (CLOSED) (CLOSED)

Merry Christmas every one.

The end of the year is a good time to look back, and I did that. This year, I started to upload my freebies here at RenderHub. First, many thanks to those that rated, liked and did renders with my freebies, I sincerely appreciate it all.

Currently, I have 8 freebies on, and I still have a lot more that I can put on as freebie. These 8 freebies have now 1850 downloads in total but only 125 likes, so 1725 downloaded things that they don't like. Only 6.8% likes my freebies, and this is not motivating me to put more freebies on. In other words, I will not put freebies on anymore. Only when the likes will be reach a higher level, I will think about it again.

I think I am not the only one here that get not many likes on their freebies. When people like (clicking the like button) that of what we do, it motivates us to do more. If you like our freebies, do it, click on this like button!

A huge thanks to them that support me by buying my products.

Likes are one thing, but it's possible to like a product without having bought, downloaded and tested it.
I think it's a shame that there are so many purchases of free products, which are sometimes not downloaded, but above all very few Reviews or comments.
Maybe they're just not installed or installed and not used!

From 90 products I have in my download list, are 25 that I haven't downloaded yet and so I haven't rated the product, cause I don't wanna give 5 stars and some words out in the blue.
And maybe, many people have your freebies in their list, but are just collecting them (the squirrels, and heaven help, in the beginning of my 3d time, I for sure was one of them *lol*)

Ok, in your case, those numbers are extreme and for me a sign of just bad behavior, taking everything, but not even give a thumbs up as a thanks.
In these days, were people just take, take and take, it wouldn't make me wonder, if the number without rating will increase
And the next, since many people who come to grab all free stuff don't even read in the forum, I would "create" a freebie picture: 
No more freebies, without rating the other products first
So the freebie hunter will at least see it

On the one hand, you're right: it can be a little frustrating for CCs to weigh up downloads, likes and ratings - and yes, I know from personal experience how motivating likes and ratings can be ....

... but offensively fishing for "Likes" is like hanging a sausage around your neck so that the neighbor's dog likes you (although I couldn't imagine that Fido would like me with my sausages: I'm a vegetarian

I just had a look at your profile / gallery / store: it all looks really good and something to be proud of, doesn't it?

So my tip in this case: be happy about what you have and get ... and don't focus on what could be (because that will never come). The users who recognize and respect your work will continue to stick with you - and with every new project there may be a few more.

I just looked at your freebies, Petege and the quality is fantastic.

I think, as a consumer of DAZ content, there's so much content available that we get very spoiled. We don't realize how lucky we are - truly.

Thank you for offering your creations for free. I will now download them for my naughty comics.

I hope you continue enjoying creating your works and find fulfillment in that. Most people will always disappoint - but a few of us REALLY appreciate the passion and time freebie creators put into their works they share with us.

For me, putting up a few free items allows a user who doesn't know me to test a product without taking any financial risk, and maybe one day to buy one of my products. 

Don't be so discouraged, at least for a good chunk of them, the simple fact that they considered downloading is a sign that they do like your work.  Perhaps a simple mechanism can be implemented (by Deviantart) by which they require feedback/evaluation/review before downloading.  Pushee-Ri and guy91600 got a point.  Happy New Year.

Somehow I missed your freebies even though I check freebies every day (I visit RenderHub multiple times throughout the day).  You have a lot of cool items. I downloaded and installed the log bench- it's definitely worth the 5 stars I gave it.

I can understand how a lack of feedback can be discouraging, but don't let it deter you.   Your products show imagination and quality and are assets  to the 3D community.
