Hi all
yesterday my son and I were out shopping and on the way back I had the idea, to tape a part of the way (about 30 min) but decided, to just use the last minutes, driving from the main street into our private way down to the farm.
Of course, we forgot a bit and some hours later we wanted to drive to a closer store, but have a look yourself:

So, if anyone wanna have some snow, more than enough here, just come and take it with, doesn't matter if a small bucket or a huge container. Just come and take this awful white stuff with you

Not going to lie but everything in that video looked like a blast to the kid in me! I've never really minded the snow but we get sleet 9 out of 10 times when we get the white stuff in my area. Overall though, I'm more of the warm weather type.

Wed, Jan 08Your post jinxed me. Weather man says to expect 1 to 1.4......inches between Thurday and Friday morning.

06:12 am, 1.7 C (35 F), it's humid, a light drizzle mixed with a few snowflakes is falling ... and I have to get on my squeaky bike in 45 minutes for a strenuous 6 kilometers ...
Isn't life beautiful

Thu, Jan 09Even with this 6 km to go, and some snowflakes, yes, life is beautiful

There is no snow in my country, but only in the mountains and in the countryside. I quite adore snow, even if it comes with cold. The last time I went through that landscape was the previous year while abroad. I was like that rabbit from Bambi. Can't say my companions shared the enthusiasm heh Pure, squeaky snow that shimmers in the light like crystal dust. Right now we have above 15 degrees here.

Thu, Jan 09I can understand you, special when you usual don't have snow.
Snow can be beautiful, it can look amazing and when it's really cold, so about minus 30 degrees C, the full moon is out and the snow glitters like a ocean of diamonds, yes, snow can be beautiful

The area where you live is so beautiful!!
We have a little snow on the ground right now, nothing compared to what our normal winters are like. We usually have snow on the ground from late December till late March or even early April. We have not had a normal winter in PA for at least 8-10 years. It's been cold though, lows in the teens and occasionally a single digit at night, upper 20's and below freezing during the day. I love the cold; it's the 40 MPH wind gusts that are keeping me inside this week, lol.

Thu, Jan 09Yes, the area is beautiful
The wind, this sometimes damned ice cold freezing wind, if it wouldn't be for my dog and the chicken, nothing would get me out of the house *shiver*

Thu, Jan 09It will take "ages" before the snow will melt here and rain would be the worst now, everything would turn into ice.
Good if one wanna go for ice skating though

Thu, Jan 09In France it's not better. I live in the suburbs of Paris and as soon as the first snowflakes fall all the buses return to the depot!
So we have to walk to get to the station. To complete the picture the roads become a giant traffic jam

Thu, Jan 09I really hope, I'll find one photo, that shows me with a little bit snow in my back, just like the norwegian guy in the last picture
Ok, I think, not that high snow, but still ... a little bit snow

That snow looks beautiful there. I wish we had some here where u am in the UK. Not for too long though, a week would be fine as I do prefer the warmer weather.

Sat, Jan 11Thanks
yes, it can look so beautiful and can be so exhausting.
For a week, too short, then you've just started to enjoy it, it's like with vacations, at least 2 weeks, better are 3. Some with the snow

You're so lucky to live among such charming surroundings!
The snow was a little late for Christmas Day here in the UK, but we did get some and I love the snow. Sadly it was gone by the next morning and even the ground had dried again. It's lucky I didn't blink at the wrong time or I'd have missed it completely - lol!

Tue, Jan 14Yes, the nature here is beautiful, some places breathtaking beautiful.
But the snow can be too much, or the winter in its whole, 5 to 6 months, nope, not fun.

That's just glorious. The winters here in Finland have really changed over the 14 (15 later this year) years I've lived here. The first five years, you'd get that waist-deep stuff by late December/January (I've got a full-meter inseam, so waist deep is DEEP. Also, public transport usually means my feet don't touch the ground when I sit, I am human origami). You'd get whole weeks under -18c when the moisture in the air would crystalize causing light pillars and sun dogs. Not to mention that fantastic squeak when you walk over the snow.
These past few years, we're lucky if we see more than 10cm of snow before it melts, then comes back again later. So far this winter, Tampere hasn't dipped below -12. I kind of miss extreme dressing to go to the store.

Tue, Jan 14This is very weird for Finland!
Here at my place (with snow guarantee) 2 meters are still nothing unusual.
Well, the winter isn't over yet, we had (if at all) some about one meter, so there is more to come. February has brought too often too much snow.
The coldest was -21, so even this was not the worst.
