I have a group of friends that are lifelong. Literally. It's over 53 years that we have all been together. We grew up together riding horses, we partied together in our 20's, weddings, showers, babies, playdates, and to this day, we have a daily group text going. We vacation together every year (last year we went on 2 vacations together), we go out to dinner or have dinner at someone's house 1-2 times per month. These are women who know me better than anyone ever could or will. I literally love these ladies, they might not be blood but they are my sisters. The one woman, Sue, her ex-husband had back surgery and has been sick for weeks after, since before Christmas. They were close, have a son together. She made him go to the hospital, in an ambulance, he was so sick. The hospital screwed around and only finally did an MRI on his spine last week. Yeah, it was really, really bad. He had a massive infection in his spine, where the surgery was done. He was a diabetic, they should have checked his surgery for an infection first thing. He passed away yesterday at 3:30 in the afternoon, his son and daughter-in-law were with him. This should never, ever have happened. The healthcare system in this country is so freaking broken, people are dying because of it. Thanks for understanding.
