### Akari Aizawa – Custom Eyelash Morph

Sorry for another long post! As I get Akari Aizawa ready for release, I wanted to share a little about the design choices behind this eyelash morph.

This is a custom morph I plan to include with the figure.

The top image shows the morph applied, while the bottom shows the default Genesis 8.1 eyelashes.

**Natural-looking lashes at any distance**

I've given the lashes a stronger curl near the roots, where it's barely noticeable. This helps prevent them from clipping into the eyelids and makes them look more natural, especially with double eyelids.

I've also grouped some of the lashes into small, mascara-like clusters without reducing the total number of strands.

The slightly pointed clusters around the inner and outer corners help the eyes keep their character, even in distant full-body renders. I was surprised by how much of a difference this makes when the face is quite small in the image.

In extreme close-ups, the curled roots and slightly uneven lash line help the lashes blend naturally with the eyelids, rather than looking like a separate layer placed on top.

**A different look from each angle**

One thing I've never liked about some 3D figures is how their left and right profiles can look almost identical, just mirrored.

I wanted the eyes to have a slightly different character depending on the viewing angle.

To achieve this, I've intentionally kept the lashes near the center of the eyelids relatively straight.

Viewed from the left, the lashes on the right side of both eyes appear fuller. From the right, the opposite happens.

It's a small change, but I was surprised by how much personality it adds, especially in profile.

**Simple and easy to use**

Like my Iray skin surfaces, I've designed these lashes to look good at different distances and under different lighting conditions, without complicated adjustments.

I use this morph on all my characters, adjusting its strength to suit each face.

I also recommend trying it on Genesis 8 figures by fitting them with Genesis 8.1 eyelashes and applying this morph.

I've put as much care into this morph as I have into the skin and eye materials. I feel it could almost stand on its own as a product, but I plan to include it with Akari Aizawa.
