TEAC AR-40S Tape Recorder
3D Render by GMArtworks"TEAC AR-40S Tape Recorder"
At an early age I came into contact with audio playback equipment. I started fixing old equipment and replacing parts. This TEAC I had bought 3 of them at a flea market for very little money. In the end I decided to build this TEAC just for fun. All shapes are created in basic parts and modeled with the so-called traditional boolean technique. All text and indicators including the graphic display are made in Photoshop.

This is awesome! I had one almost like it except it wasn't TEAC. It was Lafayette.

At that time all of my stereo equipment was purchased at Lafayette. And that's when Radio Shack came into existence!

Thu, Mar 23, 2023Yes I remember Radio Shack, in my case in the Netherlands I knew this through Tandy Electronics stores. Unfortunately, these shops disappeared 30 years ago. I often visited these stores when I needed electronic parts for my building projects. At the time I also bought a Tandy TRS80 Color which was comparable to the Commodore 64 and "basic" programming.
