Captain's log, Star date 54325.2.

As directed by Star Fleet, we have been meeting with representatives of Lord Palpatine's government for the purpose of establishing trade and diplomatic relations.

The meetings between the Federation and the Galactic Empire have been going well enough; however, an incident involving one of my junior officers interrupted one of the scheduled events today. Lieutenant Hudson apparently had managed to smuggle in a bottle of Romulan ale; and, while inebriated, he stole a speeder bike and rode naked off into the desert. The lieutenant was later apprehended by local officials and has since been confined to the ship's brig. Fortunately, there were no injuries or damage to property; however, Lt. Hudson's behavior has greatly embarrassed the Federation during this diplomatic mission. I will initiate a formal investigation at the conclusion of our business here on Tatooine.
