Tanya stood there, dead still and silent.
Her ears were the long and slender ears of the wood elf. sharp as pins. She knew her people joked that she could hear a bee fart with them and she knew she'd heard the twig snap not once but twice that time. There was no mistaking it.
Something was stalking her through the woods and what ever it was, it was big from the noise she'd heard.

As she stood there, bow poised and ready to nock an arrow lightning swift, she listened as carefully as she could but heard nothing more.
What ever it was, it was apparently aware she'd stopped moving and it was waiting. Maybe watching as well.

She wasn't afraid. Not yet anyway.
