Eveline was once a simple guardswoman, content in her stationing at a quiet outskirt village betwixt Caragal and the Sovereign Counties. But revelations of her bloodline, discovered by the scholars of Caragal’s hidden archives, cast her forth into a role of incredible responsibility she wasn't the least bit ready for.

She knows not of the complex history of the Unity War, nor the lethal lessons of spite it brought forth. She was off-duty during the Great Surge, and has only ever seen the Long Ruin from a distance. The brittle gold and cold velvet of a throne that has sat empty for thousands of years is uncomfortable against her body, and the weight of expectation sits heavy on her shoulders.
