Of all that emerged during the Unity War, nought was so feared as the quiet insanity of Caragal’s high general, Cyren. It was said she needed not blade nor staff to conquer her enemies, no plates of steel nor ward of protection to shrug off their blows. Some believed she was the descendent of sable witches, wielding Impericant magic so powerful it brought wretches to their knees.

For all her fearsome power and reverent mythos, she was no match for the Horror. Yet, her utter lack of terror before its killing gaze stayed the creature’s claws; instead, it offered her a promise, and a shard of darkness from its abyssal heart.

And so she remains, guardian of the Long Ruin, ensuring Unity never returns to the land betwixt.
