Nice take on the subject. I have heard of aliens being the gods of ancient civilizations (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erich_von_D%C3%A4niken), but this is a good one, too.

Think this stupid text editor killed the link again. Erich von Daeniken spells with an umlaut (a with two dots over it instead of "ae"), if you want to look it up in the English Wikipedia, at least there they get the spelling right frown

I found it! What a wild saga Erich lived, growing up religious and then getting interested in aliens and combining concepts from the two, then writing a book that was then rewritten by a, uh, 'bestselling n*zi author', and *then* getting done on fraud, paying it off with proceeds from that book, before it was discovered that he took a lot of concepts from Lovecraft and the Cthulhu mythos (which wasn't as popular in Germany and Switzerland yet)... and then Ridley Scott's Prometheus was based on ideas from him??? Crazy, the guy's got influence all over the shop. Some of his rhetoric concerns me slightly, lol, but definitely a very interesting tale, thanks
