The Rise of the Djinn Witch

As a newborn, Idrah was adopted by the desert tribe, although they knew by a look into her sapphire blue eyes that she was not a pureblooded child of the desert. They raised her with all the love they had, and she never lacked anything. Their love for her fostered her love for them, and thus, when the time came to choose a mate, she left her tribe heavy-heartedly but determined. Her love was too great to bind herself to only one of them; instead, she walked the menacing way of the mythical djinn witches, not fearing the utter darkness and the freezing cold of the lonely nights nor the deadly consequence of her failing.

Deeply hidden in the emptiness of the Great Desert, she found an ancient ruin, where she studied for long months the stone carvings of the ancestors of the desert tribe, and finally, on a night when the moon was gone wholesomely, she conjured the fire of her inner soul into her slender hand.

Starring at the globe of flickering fire, firey motes dancing around her, she heard the desert winds whispering her name in joy, carrying it rejoicing throughout the whole desert to herald the raising of the first desert witch in ages. Sworn to protect the desert tribe as long as her fires burn, she gripped her spear and strode into the dark night of the Great Desert.
