A Single Point of Light
3D Render by EverwildExperimenting with one light and something a little artsier. I really liked how the light vanished down along her left arm. Unfortunately, I moved the light and lost it because I forgot to save. Save early. Save often. 
(A little help with content rating: if there's no nudity in the thumbnail, I don't have to rate it even if it's showing nekkid breasts in the actual image?)

I'd guess you have to rate the image, not the the thumbnail (the only decision to be made would be mature or adult, which then affects who will see your thumbnail and subsequently the render depending on the gallery setting defined by the user). At least this would make sense to me.
But for me the whole discussion is rediculous as is. The hype of "nipple or no nipple" is way beyond me, especially seeing the reality of live vs. the prudish approach to nudity (as opposed to porn). I stopped posting at DAZ and Rendo because of selfdeclared purging admins (not even touching themes like violence and gore being acceptable, whereas nudity is not and the bigotry of not minding a bare male chest, but screaming "Sodom and Gomorrah" when a female breast is shown - now that's equal rights for you....). Probably Europeans (well, most of them) are much more laid back on that subject.
But all this are just my to 2ct of thought.

Thu, Oct 31, 2024Yeah, I think the context part is the toughest for those places to grasp. I get why people want to err on the side of caution -- like, I'm not a huge fan of gratuitous T&A shots driven by certain mentalities. But, on the other hand, I've seen a lot of lovely nudes done artistically with respect for the human form (not just female). I think RenderHub has found a nice balance, but I wish the little thumbs for the rating gave a smidge more explanation. I *think* marking them adult shuttles the image away from the general public and tucks them into a quiet corner in one's own gallery where others have to know where to look to find them.
As for the nature of prudes, especially that whole, "I can exploit you, but how dare you exploit yourself!" mentality, I hafta be :x because I'll just get ranty about how dumb the double standards (and duplicity) are!)

Thu, Oct 31, 2024Agreed, so far Renderhub has learnt a lot from not doing as the others do. So far, I am a happy user of this site. As far as protecting minors goes, I am all for it, although I suspect every six-year old is beating me in finding "inappropriate" sites on the internet.
I will only post what I think are "tasteful nudes", everything mildly above (or should I say under?) that gets posted elsewhere. But then again:
I'm at the age where food has taken the place of sex in my life. In fact, I've just had a mirror put over my kitchen table.

The lightning gives the skin this beautiful touch and her pose gives a feeling of "am I really beautiful enough?" a felling, almost every human can relate with.
About the content rating, with the new possibilities "everyone", "teenager" and so on I think it's easy.
Everything that any teenager can see anywhere is perfect for almost every render. Except the hard core stuff, if nude or violence, doesn't matter, that goes for "mature" or "adult only".
For nudity maru_berlin used the perfect description "tasteful nudes", cause nudity is our nature and should be shown in its beauty, like every old artist has done hundreds of years ago.

Mon, Nov 04, 2024Yeah, I've seen nudes posted without a privacy "screen" and not get dinged for it yet, so I think I'm safe. I don't have many nudes anyhow, but I think they'd be fun to explore for both lighting and because so many of these models are just beautifully made. Thanks for weighing in and for the direction, especially because I'm leaning into the idea of making RenderHub my new 3D exploration home.
