EVENING'S JOY

One of my friends of mine has an incredibly talented daughter.
She has her own special way of dealing with anger and frustration.
Her own "enter management", you could call it.

Whenever she feels frustrated, angry, furious or even heartbroken – she takes her cello.
Then goes into the garden, sits by the pond and plays enchantingly beautifully.
Everyone stops doing whatever they are doing.
You just can't do anything else, but listen to the enchantingly beautiful tones coming from her instrument.
There is something so soothing and healing about it all.
You feel it in your whole being and right down to the marrow, when it's going on.
There is a drastic change in the atmosphere after she finishes playing.
Afterwards, she's as happy as a bird in a tree, laughing and worse.

Her father jokes that they keep her upset and tease her, just to hear her play again.
Politics and narrow-mindedness are a particular red herring for her.
Nothing gets her as angry and irritated as that subject.
Then it goes out into the backyard with a cello.
She doesn't even look at anyone when she goes out.
There is a determined look on her face on the way to the backyard.

She is so skilled that it earned her a place in the city's own philharmonic orchestra, as the youngest member ever.
Her father cannot hide the fact that he is extremely proud of her.
