When I made my tubular elevator, I considered making making a freebie of it for others to use. Problem was, I could not figure out how to make it adjustable for differing distances between floors, and also different quantities of floors. This makes me curious whether you will publish your elevator for use by others, and what you might come up with in terms of varying distanced between floors and so on.

After a few minutes' reflection I think I've found a solution to your question, but I'd rather test it before writing a solution that doesn't work. but the idea is as follows
this solution should work for any kind of elevator!
*) the cabin is independent
*) lift shaft is a single floor, so the user will have to superimpose them
*) the upper part will have to be morphed so that the height between two floors can be modified
