What a difference a script makes
3D Render by Mjrk…only 24 little minutes.
This ia a test with the „Texture Booster“ by V3Digitimes I bought on DAZ and Etta,
a figure for G9.
I guess, it didn’t even take 24 minutes, I just fiddled around with the dials on the
the screen that popped up when I started the script.
I only changed the Gamma (whatever that may be) and some red an green values
on the skin and something with the Subsurface-sliders and the figure looked more
lifelike. In comparison the original figure (second picture) looks as if you were called
for an identification in the morgue.
I will later add other portraits, since there are quite a lot of figures that I won’t use
because of the strange coloured textures.
Thanks for looking!
Tachno-Blah: 1. I have replaced the eye textures with „Natural Eyes“ for G9
from Chevvybabe“.
2. The values for the „enhanced“ Etta were:
Gamma3.27 - Red Multiplied: 1.92 - Green Multiplied: 1.27 - Blue Multiplied 1.66
Increase Lightness for Translucency Maps: 1 (no change)
Gamma: 2.1
Red Multiplied: 1.43 - Green Multiplied: 1.25 - Blue: 1
Translucency Weight: 0.79
Gloss > (Skin, Lips, Nails) Dual Lobe Specular Weight: 2.04
Detail Normal Map: 1.94
All the values were dialed in without knowing what I did, just experimenting
with the script in NVIDIA Iray preview mode.
3. The enhanced textures look fine with iRay and totally grotesque in the ususal
„Texture Shaded“ preview. Flat Green, Blue or some other colour, depending on the
values you have dialed.
4. This script works with all textured Genesis figures and also on other
textured objects.
Both pictures were lit with SASE Promo lights, no extra lights this time.
Stopped after 1 hour rendering = 1%, so it’s likely that a fully rendered picture
will look smother (but I’m too impatient and it looks good enough for a test).

Picture 3 shows Sepideh for G9 with original colours, for picture 4 I used
the Texture Booster and Natural Eyes. In both cases the area around the eyes
looks as if she hasnt got enough sleep in the last week. Well, there is always
a lot to do before Christmas.
As far as the skin colour is concerned: I think someone who knows better than me
what all these dials mean (or who is more patient than me and reads the PDF that
comes with the script) could make a better surface.
1 additional Ghost light from her right, 6500 K, 670 W.

Great images and thanks for the info...I guess I'll spend a couple of euros on this script ! All the best for 2025.

Tue, Dec 31, 2024Yes, it's one of the products that really make a difference. Given that there is something to boost in the texture!
Then one can at least change the colour and glossiness. And that is not limited to skins.

Thanks for this. It's amazing how the textures can be changed like that. I don't use G9 because of the difficulty in getting a reasonably good looking character. Maybe Daz will come out with a G9.1 or something.

Wed, Jan 01Agreed, I think, I also have had enough of the G9 by now. The most moronic feature of this figure is the feet.
Foot - Toes - and then the metatarsals? Who's idea was that?

Great review Mjrk. Think I'll try this booster myself.
Chevybabe's hair shaders are superb...have to try the eyes as well...

Wed, Jan 01I'll have a look at the Hair Shaders (oh, and I wrote a v too much on his name).
Until now I use the Sloshworks Hair Shaders, they work quite well an the rendering is faster
especially on OOT-Hair.

this is interesting, i tend to use the settings within the UBER shader to do this. which is also trial and error to some degree. i find that the translucency colour and Subsurface colour have a similar effect to changing the actual gamma.. i will have to download this tool and see how i get on.. thanks for sharing your experience!

Thu, Jan 02There is an option in the script that makes it possible to permanently load you new dialed settings.
But please: be more patient than I was during my first test and read the description!
I don't want to be responsible for a spoiled shader. And yours are always so good from the start.

I also bought this script, but haven't had time to play with it much. It appears as if you've picked it up fairly quickly. Thanks for posting these inspiring results. Happy New Year.

Sun, Jan 05It's a matter of seconds - if you just boost a too pale and uniform texture. Changing the color takes a little more time.
After I spend some time with it, I'll see if I can get some good results to post.

Mon, Jan 06Good Luck! I'd like to see what you can achieve with this script. I was just happy to find a product that really works.
And it makes a huge difference in some cases.

Beautiful! There are a few scripts I can't live without & this is one of them & what I like about it its not just for one gen etc you can do them all! I like the look of the paler skin but that's my preference on my models but here it makes a difference.
