Ivory, Her Cat Moshi and Poe the Crow (Part #2)
3D Render by slofkoskyThe lake stretched before them, its surface rippling in the gentle afternoon breeze. Ivory settled onto a sun warmed rock near the water, slipping off her shoes and pressing her toes into the heat.
The day was just right, not too warm, not too cool, with the sun drifting lazily in and out of the clouds.
Poe perched on her picnic basket, ruffling his feathers, while Moshi curled beside her, eyes half-closed, flicking his tail at the occasional insect. Ivory tore off a piece of bread, holding it up. "Here, Poe" she murmured, smiling as the crow plucked it from her fingers.
A soft wind carried the scent of damp earth and wildflowers. Ivory breathed it in, watching the lake shimmer. No rush, no worries, just the perfect day shared with her two closest companions.
In the middle of this beautiful restful day, Poe, who was wresting on the picnic basket, let out a volley of caws. Ivory felt it second as the hairs on the back of her neck began standing up in alert, then all of her senses began screaming for her attention.
NOTES:
Not a great story but just wanted to create something more with the good witch named Ivory, her cat Moshi and her friend Poe the crow on a day of an adventure.
Couldn't decide on a better angle, edit... so just uploaded both. The water is really pretty in Stonemason's Fern Lake.

The upper one I like better for the composition, the lower one (mainly because of the omitted tongue) leaves more options as to how the story evolves: the thing still could be having good intentions. My guess is that the hamper is much more interesting than the 3 characters of your story. Well, at least if that was MY world.
