A SOUND

At the sound of a dragging foot, Ceridwyn opened her eyes.

AWAKE!

Saying words she had not said since she was a novice, Ceridwyn ignited her magic against the Risen. She would not be caught again with an inability to strike at need. She rose to her knees as the thing in the door made awful almost word sounds, gesturing wide and brandishing the glowing blade.

Cróga came out from under the bed, looking suspiciously on the new arrival.

ATTACK!

A storm of magic surrounded Ceridwyn as she stood. Twin spheres of glowing energy swirled just beyond her finger tips.

Cróga rushed forward, ready to attack.

A STORM OF MAGIC

Pouring from the power that Ceridwyn had invoked, the storm slammed into the thing,

DEFEAT!

The thing crumbled into a dark heap of ash and bone. Cróga sniffed at the pile, still not trusting that the threat was ended.

Ceridwyn's power slowly faded and was gone.
