Starship Crash Lands on Robot Planet One Human Survived
3D Render by Henry1850The USS Alabama was on the 21st mission to Mars, carrying a large civilian crew, including young adults and children. Something when horribly wrong with the onboard guidance system and communication systems, before they knew it they had passed Mars and became trapped in Jupiter's gravity. Believing they could slingshot around Jupiter using it to get the spaceship headed back to Mars. But without the guidance system they miscalculated the gravity of Jupiter. They gain way too much speed and were shot out of the solar system. Traveling at close to half of the speed of light. It took 8.5 years to reach Proxima Centauri system. They found some planets, thinking they may be able to land on one. but... a near by gas giant pulled them into a gravity well which caused the ship to shake violently and began breaking apart, with little hope the captain used every once of fuel to break free, but it was already to late. The ship landed on a nearby arid planet breaking into thousands of pieces. Unknown to them this was once a mechanized mining outpost, abandoned for hundreds of years. Not much was left of the ship, all perished except one 9 year old child (Lizzy). She survived within the rear section of the ship and lived on the large quantity of food stores.
Months passed... The robots discovered the crash and located the young girl. A weird bond formed between them. In time the child introduce the bots to the broken ship's human library of knowledge much of it was damaged beyond repair but what remained became like a new purpose for both.
As Lizzy spent more time with the robots, she began to teach them about human emotions, art, and philosophy—concepts long buried in the mining outpost’s forgotten archives. In turn, the robots shared their vast technical knowledge, helping Lizzy build shelter, repair equipment, and even craft rudimentary communication devices.
One day, while exploring the ruins, Lizzy and the bots stumbled upon a dormant AI deep within the facility’s core systems. This AI, named KAL-13, was different from the mining bots—it had once controlled entire planetary operations but had shut down when the outpost was abandoned. With careful repairs and countless nights of trial and error, Lizzy managed to reactivate KAL-13, who immediately analyzed her situation.
“This planet was never meant to be inhabited,KAL-13 warned. “But I have access to deep-space relay channels. There is something… out there.Using fragmented data from the ship’s wreckage, KAL-13 pinpointed a strange signal emanating from a distant celestial object—a massive space station orbiting one of Proxima Centauri’s outer planets. It wasn’t human, nor was it robotic. It was something else.
With the help of the bots, Lizzy constructed a makeshift distress beacon, amplifying KAL-13’s signal toward the mysterious station. months passed with no response—until, suddenly, the planet’s skies darkened. A colossal ship descended, hovering above the ruins. The mining bots froze, unsure whether to perceive this as salvation or doom.
A strange group of beings disembarked. They weren’t purely organic, nor were they fully mechanical. They were something in between—entities that had evolved through centuries of adaptation in the Proxima system. Their leader approached Lizzy and, in flawless English, simply asked:
“Who taught the machines to remember?
In that moment, Lizzy realized she hadn’t just survived—she had reignited something lost to time. A civilization on the brink of forgetting its past was now staring at a child who carried the last remnants of human knowledge.
And the question remained—was this an invitation, or a warning?
