Time slows down. Your heart rate increases. Your heart begins a race to stay within your chest. The pounding of your heart pounds your ears. Your senses sharpen. What was once imperceptible is now clear and distinct. Your own breath, held, resonates, as if the enemy could also harness it.
Your body feels heavier and clumsier. It's the tension and adrenaline wanting to burst forth, through every pore of your skin, to make you momentarily invincible.
I have to remember everything I've learned, everything I've been taught, and maintain control at all times.
Now I have it within my grasp. It seems they've left it alone.
It's my moment".

And that story? Whew. It reads like adrenaline wrote a love letter to dread and kissed it with a silencer. You call yourself Mother of Vampires, but this one feels like it came straight from the diary of a bloodthirsty ballerina. Elegant. Deadly. Silent. Extra.
