This render really captures the spirit of Leila — a woman deeply connected to the land she loves, living in isolation with her family… right before her world is shattered by the chaos of a Mad Max-style dystopian western.

I'm still not satisfied with the horse's texture or the mane, so for this version, I actually used a real horse photo to blend the mane in Photoshop. It’s a temporary fix until I redo it properly in Blender and Substance Painter.

I've been around a lot of big draft horses. For your final horse skin textures, tone down your bump mapping by more than half and you'll be on the right track. The hide is more like fine hairs about a quarter inch long. A specter map highlighting the muscles would be perfect. Hope that helps.
