"Why in the world do you want that crazy half-breed to stay?" Captain Croil asked.

"I need a second barmaid," replied Laura.

The captain doubled over laughing. He was laughing so hard he was having trouble breathing.

He suddenly stopped, seeing what Laura was holding.

"Nice medallion," he said casually.

"We both know what it is," Laura replied.

Croil turned and strode back onto the ship, saying "Fine" with his back turned.
