I completed this render for a PS challenge. Although it is a 3D render, I had to manipulated the uniforms to get the 1066 England and West Germany emblems on. The Slazenger challenge 25 on the ball, including a world cup poster from 1066 on the flag and the design that was on the ticket that sold for the match, is on the table with the Jules Rimet trophy. The trophy was later stolen and never recovered. The bigger coins on the table bear King William and King Harold's faces, not that you can make them out but they're there anyway. The scene was getting too heavy to duplicate anymore knights so I made a series of alpha plains together with normal, bump and metalness maps in PS. The second and third ranks of British soldiers are alpha plains.

There are three 66 dates that resonate with every red-blooded (and, indeed, blue-blooded) Englishman (and, indeed, Englishwoman (and, indeed, Englishperson of indeterminate gender)). In reverse chronological order:

1966, the year England won the World Cup;
1666, the date of the Great Fire of London;
1066, the Norman invasion of England at Hastings.

Would it be asking the impossible to incorporate all these 66 events in a single image?
