A Requiem for Broken Toys

Her only playmates are a small orchestra of child-sized skeletons, whom she affectionately calls "The Boney Bunch."
Every night, beneath the crimson velvet curtain, Clara, perched on her small podium,
raises a birchwood wand and conducts her undead friends.
The air fills with the melody of their bony instruments:
violins that creak, a harp that tinkles like loose teeth, and a double bass that resonates with a hollow echo.
Tonight, however, the music is different; they are rehearsing a piece Clara wrote on a dusty scroll, a melody as melancholic as it is beautiful.
