Warm lights glowed through the windows, decorations shimmered softly, and a little girl waited for just one thing…
a tiny miracle from Santa.
But at midnight, everything changed.
She stepped outside, rubbing her sleepy eyes after hearing strange noises on the porch.
And when the door opened… childhood shattered.
There he was Santa Claus
not laughing,
not delivering gifts,
but standing in handcuffs, his head lowered as if the weight of the whole world rested on him.
A police officer held his arm, guiding him away, while Santa’s bag of presents lay open behind them, silently witnessing the collapse of a dream.
The girl didn't understand.
Her voice trembled as she whispered:
“Why… what did he do?
But the truth wasn’t a crime.
It was a sacrifice.
According to an old forgotten legend, when the world becomes too heavy for children’s hearts, a “Keeper of Wishesmust pay the price to keep joy alive.
