3D Render by ArtbyMelThe day had finally come. The stone halls no longer echoed with the sounds of wooden swords clashing, or their laughter as each one succumbs to the other's battle prowess. There would be no more nights perched on this very balcony telling tales of the brave knights of the kingdom, of their father the king, as he led his armies to victory after victory. No more sneaking out of the castle through the tunnels below to go on daring adventures of their own.
Barely a year apart they were, his elder brother and best friend, who himself was not yet a man, was now the king. And he was just a forgotten prince wandering the palace halls alone. The duties of the crown were all that mattered for his brother now. The king was dead, long live the king.
The balcony was now a place of emptiness and silence. And that silence was deafening.
