I thought I would try something in the realm of Steampunk, as it has a head start down the path of the surreal. I first played with a steampunk world as a background but abandoned it for something less busy. I repeated the circular forms throughout with some of the background elements, the pipe, the bubbles, the spectacles and gauges. I kept the color scheme fairly limited and subdued with the exception of the vibrant purple throughout. Of course the window through the subject revealing the inner workings of his heart is surreal. The overall composition and straight-on symmetrical composition borrows somewhat from René Magritte's "Son of Man". I hope you enjoy it. Just for grins, I ran it through Topaz's AI engine. I cannot recall the settings. Overall, it was a bit much, but in limited areas, I think it was sort of interesting — those areas being the materials in the hat and jacket. So I uploaded that into the support images. It has been dialed back in Photoshop. It isn't my main image. I'm not opposed to AI, but I think it defeats the purpose of this exercise. If Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt can host a convincing AI battle, then a lot of things are going to shift. Here we are bemoaning AI as we digitally airbrush in a minute what used to take hours. Perhaps it's time to reluctantly embrace what's coming or be swept away in its tidal wash. Ugh.
