Street Kids 003
3D Render by UdoKStreet children are poor or homeless children who live on the streets of a city, town, or village. Homeless youth are often called street kids, or urchins; the definition of street children is contested, but many practitioners and policymakers use UNICEF's concept of boys and girls, aged under 18 years, for whom "the street" (including unoccupied dwellings and wasteland) has become home and/or their source of livelihood, and who are inadequately protected or supervised.
------
It doesn't seem so bad here.
It is protected and quite quiet.
The day was long and tiring, but like every night we have to be on our guard.
Boy:
Come here sister you can lie down here.
Girl:
I don't know, I don't dare. Do you really think it's safe here?
Boy:
Don't be afraid, I'll take care of you and your little friend. Try to sleep, it will be alright.
Girl:
But you have to sleep too. What if you fall asleep too?
Boy:
Don't worry, I don't need sleep. I'll take care of you for as long as it takes.

Two years ago I did a piece about this scourge present on modern civilizations. It still plagues our world and perhaps has even gotten worst. When we abandon our youth we abandon part of our future. I no longer care about the why's, how's, where's or causes. It's time we see this, to look in the mirror and fix this, once and for all.
Amazing and poignant artworks represents only part of the reflection of our world. This seems a simple yet so important thing to fix.

Sat, Apr 18Thank you very much for your sincere comment.
Our society sees the problem, our society recognizes the problem, and our society talks about the problem.
But nothing happens. Except for a very few exceptions who have the courage to step in here.
I believe:
As long as our society—the entire society—is unable to live peacefully and harmoniously side by side, these problems will never be solved.
