The Space Between Oaths
3D Render by GwynneverYes, I'm still stuck in the DA: O universe and I doubt that I'll leave it anytime soon.
As it usually happens I start with having an idea and then my workflow brings me in a completely different direction, so this is how this little, intimate piece came to life (the second pic is the one that I made first as a pose reference/double portrait sort of render and no matter what I still believe it came out better then the first one, more complete, but full of noise because I have no patience to have the render go for more than 10 minutes ).
The scene it's supposed to be set after the Battle of Denerim, at the Royal Palace, during the first real moment of peace Alistair and Daphne (decided to keep my Warden's original name) have had since the start of the Blight. Just the two of them, a jug of wine, a few candles and a wooden tub full of clean water to wash away the dirt and blood from the final battle, finally at peace right before plunging back into what will be one of the biggest chapter in their lives after the Joining and the end of the shortest Blight Thedas has ever known: rule their country, together, yet another oath to swear.
To their country. To their people. To each other.
And among all this, the one they can't never really run away from.
"In War, Victory.
In Peace, Vigilance.
In Death, Sacrifice."
PS: Daphne is my OC. Alistair's model is my personal take based on his appearance in the first game. His model from DAI felt a bit too cartoonish for my liking, so I choose to try and make him myself. The character and Dragon Age lore and related material however, wherever not explicitly indicated, belong to Bioware.

I like the top one because Daphne seems to stand out better.

Wed, May 27Thank you!
Yeah, I suppose that one is better because the enviroment's lights put everything nicely together and also in the bottom one I hadn't put a backlight to separate them from the background, so she kinda looks smushed against it

The posing, the romance you captured is so beautiful! It feels very realistic and the lighting also adds to the full feelings of the moment.
