Mars
3D Render by EverwildOne of 3 monster hunters, he still needs his scars and grit, but I got all enamored with his "prettyfied" version. Apparently a brief dm exchange with Bu_es (this Mateo's maker) was the catalyst I needed to remake Mars after the Dumb I did back in March. It cost me over a dozen characters I'd made. Way way before that, I thought I was going to use Mateo as the "chassis" for a pirate, but he ended up becoming Marcus Gladiron, and far more significant, as he shows up in book 3 of my pet-project trilogy. That first version never made it to render. Mostly because I got nit-picky about his scars. I don't have a decent griffin for him, either (Daz, plzno), and Mars is the first griffin rider in the history of Orr. He goes on to teach others how to partner with griffins, including Salem.
Losing all those characters, though... (Some I have finished images for, but it was still painful.) It took the wind out of my sails. I gave up. For months, I teetered on the edge of "WTF am I doing all this for anyhow?" (There's this evil little voice in the back of my head whispering, "Turn it into a big-arse board game. I DARE ya...") What do you do when you wake up one morning to suddenly realize you don't even LIKE technology any more? (Except my A/C. Dun get anywhere near et, I swears.)
Mars is a 50/50 split with Mateo and Daz's Thomas 9, with a pinch of Lawrence 9 for spice. Mateo's mats.
Anyhow, picked up a couple of G8.1s from Bu_es to try. I made him pick because I couldn't make up my mind. Maybe I'll manage a couple of pirates THIS time. Cheers. Thanks for lookin'.

Ugh, I am so sorry you lost your characters. That would freak me out! And I do that feeling about technology, but then I remember how much I love to create characters and environments...and how cathartic it can be for me. I'm so glad you didn't throw in the towel. You have created a very handsome man <3

Wed, Jun 10<3 You are the bestest. Seriously. I have about 7 more to go, and maybe we'll just pretend they'll be better. lol I will miss those versions of Lucky, Perinnia, and Professor Matirri, though!
