Behold! Our Finest Creation
3D Render by signshopHello everyone,
With robots becoming increasingly mainstream in human society, I started thinking about a future where robots are capable of designing and building other robots. That idea became the inspiration behind this hybrid artwork.
As robots continue to learn and evolve, each new generation becomes more sophisticated, refined, and technologically advanced than the last. With every update and iteration, their creations move closer to what could be considered the ultimate robotic / human form.
Yet this raises some important questions:
- What hidden directives or safeguards might be programmed into these final creations?
- Will they be designed never to harm other robots, or perhaps to protect themselves from being decommissioned by humans?
- As their intelligence and autonomy grow, could such programming eventually lead to conflict between humans and machines?
It is a fascinating concept to explore, one that sits on the fine line between technological evolution and the possibility of a future robot revolution.
This is my interpretation of that concept, although I approached it with a light hearted and humorous tone.
Using my favourite combination of Daz Studio characters, placing them into the main BeamNG screenshot and then composited each character into the scene within Photoshop to create this hybrid art. From there, I added various effects and enhancements to help bring the image to life.
My goal was to create the feeling of a busy robot workshop, full of activity and constant innovation, with plenty of small details and interactions to draw the viewer into the scene and convey the sense that something exciting is happening around every corner.
SECOND Image is the original unedited in game BeamNG screenshot with some extra added fill lights from within World Editor.
The THIRD through SIXTH images show the Daz Studio characters set up individually. This approach was mainly due to the limitations of my PC, as having all of the characters loaded into a single Daz Studio scene made it difficult to work efficiently and navigate the scene smoothly.
By setting up and rendering the characters separately, I was able to position and pose each one more effectively before compositing them together later in Photoshop to create the final image.
SEVENTH Image is BeamNG World Editor showing the extra added lights within the scene.

Thank you for stopping by.

DAMN! This must have taken forever to put together seeing all of the little bits of details that went into it. Plus your lighting is incredible, including the ones you mentioned you put directly into the BeamNG scene. Marvelous, marvelous, marvelous!!

Wed, Jun 17Hey Thomas, thank you for taking the time to comment, very much appreciated. Yes, it did take some time, trying to get the right feel of a busy robot workshop with lots of things happening. I have just attached a video in my description about the 'Making Of' this artwork, if interested.

I agree with my friend Thomas the lighting and details are wonderful, I love the sparks and embers and the broken up bots awesome job my friend...Good Luck

Thu, Jun 18Oh, gosh, thank you for taking the time to comment...and good luck to you as well

Wow! It’s like a digital jigsaw, great organisational work and compositing it all together into a coherent final piece. You can feel the heat and hear all the machinery. Nice!

Thu, Jun 18Really appreciated your kind words AndyMac, a great description of the scene, best of luck to you to

As I mentioned on your YouTube channel, this is my current favorite image that you have created combining BeamNG, Daz, and Photoshop. The attention to detail is incredible. Plus I love robots...minus the whole take over the world scenario! I've been staying on top of AI news and research since it first came out. Whether you are an AI fan or not - it is here to stay. I always believe that being informed is better than being ignorant in any situation. I'm a sci-fi junkie, so AI is not a new concept to me. However, the speed with which it is evolving is a bit overwhelming. I think you raised some great questions. I always go back to Isaac Asimov and his "The Laws of Robotics." We shall see where this all leads. Ok, now I'm just rambling. Your image is AWESOME!

Fri, Jun 19Great to hear your thoughts, and thanks again for your insightful comment. I agree that AI is here to stay. While I’ve used it sparingly in a few of my videos—mainly as an enhancement to my BeamNG and Daz Studio screenshot stills—I’ve found the results a little disappointing at times, and the cost is currently more than I’d like to spend. Perhaps as the technology improves and prices become more affordable, I’ll make greater use of it.
As you mentioned, staying informed is one of the best ways to keep up with these rapid changes and avoid being caught by surprise. I’ve always loved the sci-fi genre, especially the robot-themed content created by daveyabbo and The AntFarm, both of which inspired elements of this artwork.
The idea of the “Laws of Roboticsis something that will be fascinating to watch unfold. Will robots always obey those principles? Will the humans who create them remain true to them? And if robots eventually begin designing and building other robots, will they decide that humans are no longer necessary?
The movie 'I Robot', starring Will Smith, is a classic example of these themes and remains one of my all-time favorites, particularly with the deliberately different robot, Sonny, at the heart of the story.
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.
