LIGHTMIX FOR DAZ STUDIO
--------------------------------------
Take control of your scene lighting even after the render is complete.
LightMix for Render Accelerator Studio allows you to individually adjust the lights that contributed to your DAZ Studio render without having to return to the scene, change the lighting, and render everything again. Once the render is finished, LightMix automatically detects and lists the lights that affected the final image. From there, you can experiment with your lighting and immediately see how each change affects the final result.
With LightMix, you can:
- Adjust individual light intensity
- Change light colors
- Fine-tune the contribution of each light
- Balance multiple lights independently
- Experiment with different lighting combinations
- Make lighting adjustments without re-rendering the entire scene
---------------------------------------------------------
NOT A POST-PROCESSING LIGHT EFFECT
---------------------------------------------------------
LightMix does not create fake lights on top of your finished image and does not work like painting light in Photoshop. The lighting information comes directly from the actual lights used during the render.
This means you are modifying the contribution of real scene lights that were already part of the rendering process, rather than applying an artificial visual effect afterward.
Background lights, environment lights, and lights you manually added to the scene can all be handled independently when they contribute to the render.
----------------------------------------------------
RENDER ONCE, ADJUST AFTERWARD
----------------------------------------------------
Lighting often requires experimentation.
Normally, changing the color or strength of a light means returning to DAZ Studio, modifying the scene, starting another render, waiting for it to finish, and comparing the result. With LightMix, you can render your scene once and continue experimenting with the lighting afterward.
- Try a warmer key light.
- Reduce a background light.
- Change the mood of the scene.
- Rebalance multiple lights.
You can see the result immediately without repeating the entire rendering process for every small lighting adjustment.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
POWERED BY RENDER ACCELERATOR STUDIO
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Because LightMix is an extension for Render Accelerator Studio, you can use LightMix while also benefiting from RA Studio's accelerated rendering workflow. Render your scene approximately 2-4x faster with Render Accelerator Studio, then fine-tune your lighting with LightMix after the render is complete.
This combines faster rendering with significantly more flexibility during the final lighting stage of your workflow.
---------------------------------------------------
DESIGNED FOR ARTISTS
---------------------------------------------------
LightMix is especially useful for:
- Character portraits
- Cinematic scenes
- Interior renders
- Night scenes
- Multi-light setups
- Rim and accent lighting
- Complex environments
- Scenes where lighting requires frequent experimentation
Instead of repeatedly rendering the same scene just to test small lighting changes, LightMix gives you much more freedom to explore the final look after the render has already been completed.
------------------------------------
SYSTEM MEMORY USAGE
------------------------------------
When LightMix is enabled, the rendering process may use additional system RAM depending on the number and intensity of lights in your scene.
This is because LightMix keeps the lighting data required for post-render adjustments in system memory while the render is being processed. The additional memory usage affects your computer's RAM, not your GPU VRAM. Scenes with more complex or intensive lighting setups may therefore require more system memory while LightMix is active.
