Yes, sadly true, in fact there's a thread about it over on Daz. It's very sad to see, but it's just the start, and people won't wake up until they're left choking in their own filthy AI slop, and suddenly realise there's nowhere left for them to crawl back to.

There are so many incredible, free assets on the site that can't be found elsewhere. I took for granted it would always be there and didn't download everything I wanted. Now that it's closing, I've been downloading stuffs over the past couple of days. I'm on page 260, starting from the newest to the oldest, just for DAZ assets alone. The site seems officially closed but is still online with pretty speedy downloads. Some assets may vanish into private collections if creators don't repost, so I recommend checking it out and grabbing your gems while you can.

Before opening my store on Renderhub, I tried selling on ShareCG and Renderosity. My first package was rejected on both sites, with the only explanation being a link to the sales guidelines page. When you're a non-Anglophile like me and have to translate and understand a large number of guidelines, it's discouraging. So I gave up on both sites. The reception here was completely different; I was given advice, my mistakes were pointed out, and a suggestion was made. (I learned by chance much later that the administrator in question was Foxy3D.)
When I hear that some sites are closing, I simply believe that welcoming new sellers and buyers is important. I remember a quote from a French-speaking comedian: "Beware of your first impression; it's often the right one."

I was a Renderosity merchant for a few years in the late
90’s to early 2000’s
They have changed alot since then and from what I hear from
people,it is as though they are actively discouraging new vendors.
All of the third party poser content sites are dead
and Renderosity only exists because of the amount of Daz Genesis content sold in their marketplace
Sad to see old shareCG go at any rate

My very first A3 character was hosted there first, before anywhere else (even Renderosity). Had a ton of downloads back in the days.

Lots of creators that had products on sharecg , are slowly uploading them to both Renderosity and Renderhub freebie sections.
