First, let me praise this plugin to no end. Sorry, I messed up my rating on the product page

SculptTool for Daz3D
Not just because it is a cool plug in idea, but it also gives DAZ users some important indepenance, from paywalled subscription products.
I'd lke to see more independant plugins, that make users life easier, sold here at RH.
Maybe even more of them can break DAZ's restrictions.
Some skilled scripting heroes might find ways to provide us with features and plugins, without back engineering of course.
I am thinking of alternative render engines. Look at BlueJaunte's efforts with a Cycles or Wicked render engine for DAZ Studio.
Wicked
Maybe an advanced alternative to dforce is possible.
And what about having HiRes morphs?
I know, there is something available, but it is restricted to G8 and G9 base figures.

The thought of a replacement for dFarce makes me all excited inside. I use Marvellous Designer and the draping tool is worlds better than D-stupid-farce.

Sun, Jul 12Just to avoid false hopes. There is no real alternative to dforce.
I am just asking for some alternative here.
I am just asking for some alternative here.
That would reduce a lot of going back and forth between Blender and DAZ and even remove Blender entirely from the workflow, at least for non-HD morphs. I hope it gets updated for HD morphs in the future, but I'll buy it regardless.

Sadly i don't have the funds right now or would buy in advance just in case Daz people feel compelled to Buy it to avoid competition. Into WL for now.
If is only half as good as the promo then will already be a good purchase.
I think the only missing plugin that is still too popular inside Paywall Sub would be Render Queue, if someone makes that standalone again........YES PLEASE!!!!!

I saw it, it looked interesting, I'm going to pick it up and have a look.
On the paid version of DAZ, I have it. If you are still buying content there it is a really good deal, if you aren't not so much but I would point out developing software costs money, and if you aren't buying from the DAZ store you aren't contributing towards the cost of maintaining Studio. Just sayin'.
I support financially the software I use. Unless you are willing to work for free you shouldn't expect others to.

Mon, Jul 13Whenever I purchase content from DAZ, I have the vendor in mind, not DAZ. company or better said Tafi.

Well, I support the software financially, that supports me as a user.
If I had been all excited about DAZ, I would have invested in a one time software purchase, but I have a strong refusal against liscence fees in general.
DAZ is not going the way, I like them to go and I feel like being let down.
I am still looking for an off ramp with my main character from DAZ and here is why.
I made pretty clear, what I need from DAZ. What DAZ is doing, is their decision.
BTW: I make this about me, because I can only speak for myself.
If other members are happy with the "DAZ-Way", then it is up to them.
My point is, if DAZ wants to be a premium class software, then it should offer premium class tools.
Then I'd be willing to pay a one time premium class prize.
We're here amongst us and I talk freely here.
IMO: If Reallusion introduced something like JCMs and geo-graft, which included anatomical elements, tomorrow, DAZ Studio would become meaningless within a year.
Poser has lost against DAZ Studio by not reading the sign of the times and now DAZ might fail by the same mistake by not paying attention to Reallusion products.
We are at DAZ studio 6 right now. An upgrade from 4. xxx is announced for years.
What DAZ delivered is anothing given the long time it took to releas a new version number.
It just feels like another service release.
No advanced animation tools, that prevent feetskating
No way of connecting material properties with shaping parameters.
Mesh smoothing is still restricted to one base item
Dforce is still early 2k technology.
DAZ Studio has only three advantages against their competators:
JCMs
Geo-Grafts
Geo-Shells
And just in case mentioning Strand Based Hair, I would not count that as advantage.
Together with dforce it is slow, hard to predict and it does not look much better than hair cards.
I am missing innovations.
I leave it open, what I mean by "innovations", because everybody dealing with 3d characters daily would immediatly know, what that means and what a is needed.

Out of curiosity, what makes this product is IP Restricted? I'm not sure I understand this type of licensing. Does it mean they're publishing a product that belongs to someone else? ( wants it.)

Mon, Jul 13DAZ Studio has its own sculpting tool, but it is only available as a Premium Membership member, which of cours costs a monthly fee.
This tool here is a one time payment, that you can use with the free software.

Mon, Jul 13New products always get tagged as IP restricted. I assume that's just in case someone uploads proprietary content. Usually changes to extended within a couple of days. Assuming of course that the author didn't do that on purpose for some reason.
This tool sounds promising, so I had to grab it. It's a 'Beta' version so I'm looking forward to future updates, like maybe HD morph creation? Time to play?

Mon, Jul 13A bit more. Is more equivalent to Geometry Sculptor (Prime exclusive) that was suppose to be the next gen Mesh Grabber before Daz buy out of several of Manfriday's products.
Also, meshgrabber (the original) does not work (and likely never will) in Daz 6+. People with 50XX that have meshgrabber are forced to bake morphs for every tiny correction in Daz 4 before rendering in Daz 6
