When I first started using DAZ, I bought everything from DAZ because I didn't know of any other place. Then I discovered a few other places but moved a majority of my purchases to Renderosity because the prices were the same or better than DAZ.
Now I am doing almost all of my purchases from RenderHub for two reasons : [1] a lot of the characters have a unique look to them instead of the generic appearance found on other sites. Unique looking characters are better for on-going stories because they are easier to identify by readers. [2] The majority of characters being offered are G8 where as other sites have gone almost exclusively to G9. G8 was kept around much longer than other generations and as a result, I have a massive base for G8 in terms of clothing, hair, accessories, morphs, etc. I really don't want to start over with G9.
(so a hint to developers) ... As long as RenderHub continues to provide G8 base characters and accessories, I will continue to spend a majority of my money here.

In fact, 99% of my clients always ask for characters for G8, it's rare that they ask me for something for G9, that's why I don't do almost anything for G9.

Fri, Dec 13, 2024I can also confirm that when I make something for G8M and something for G9, the G8M version sells better. I have to admit I was surprised by this, you would have figured based on Daz's advertising that no one uses G8 anymore.

Fri, Dec 13, 2024For many customers, G9's more sectioned structure makes it more complex, G8's structure is simpler, and it consumes less memory resources. I think this is one of the reasons why customers continue to buy more from G8.

Fri, Dec 13, 2024For me, my G8 folder is loaded with characters, morphs, skin tones, hair, clothing, accessories, etc., allowing me to make countless characters. It just does not make monetary sense to start all over again with G9 with much more limited stuff available.

Sat, Dec 14, 2024I wasn't implying the website was going to remove it. I was hinting to the creators not to jump on the G9 wagon and continue making G8 stuff. I would be interested in seeing stuff for G3 and G2 as well such as body morphs, hair, clothing, etc. G1 (or just plain G) is not robust enough for me to work with but there are some folks that have done some pretty amazing stuff with G1 that has blown my mind).
I'm not a vendor, not at the moment anyway. But providing I can get around some technical hurdles I'm having then I do plan to become one. I have no intention of supporting Genesis 9 though, none whatsoever.
I intend to support the Genesis 8 and 8.1 series of figures.

Thanks for the feedback, but we really can't take the credit there. This one's all about supply and demand.
As long as customers want new Genesis 8 content and vendors supply it, RenderHub will keep promoting and providing easy access to it.
