We want to make sure you are aware of a common scam we've seen.

How the Scam Works:
- A scammer may offer to create custom 3D work for you.
- They'll try to move the conversation off RenderHub - often to Discord or another private channel.
- Once there, they will ask for an up-front payment - and then disappear without delivering the work.
How to Protect Yourself:
- Keep communications on RenderHub. Scammers usually try to avoid records of their scams.
- Be cautious about up-front payments. Verify the reputation and work history of anyone you hire for custom jobs.
- Report suspicious activity. If someone tries to take the conversation off-platform or behaves unprofessionally, click the report button on the message.

It probably happens more often that artists are asked for commissions and then not paid, but since this is a product store, we tend to always look in one direction only... now it's full of scammers, it's better to never trust

Thu, Feb 20This happened to me in 2023, i made the product, put it online and i had no purchases but i saw in demand (free) on a site that i will not name here. I did not totally waste my time since it is on sale in my store and the requester had no pre-version.
I did a few commissioned jobs. I always charged 1/3 of the price in advance and then I would send him how it was going for the first corrections he wanted. And the rest upon delivery and I gave him everything. Since they were almost always based on real people... and I deleted more reference photos and everything from my hard drive. Sorry, I'm going off topic. You always have to be very careful.
