The Asteroid Field Battle

At the rim of the known galaxy, the Commonwealth finally found the fleet of the Insurrectionists. Hidden in an asteroid field and surrounded by an echelon of surveillance relays to detect the approach of enemy ships, they believed in safety.

A SOF unit of the Commonwealth managed to infiltrate the control system of the relays, altering the parameters slightly so that small space fighters were undetected.

When the squadrons hailed down on the capital ships of the Insurrections, hell broke out in space, and the battle of the asteroid field began.

While he encouraged me to create this image, I inspired him with the tiny Commonwealth vs. Insurrectionists story above, so he came up with his own tidbit of the battle ensuing among the asteroids.
