Just a portrait
3D Render by Pushee-RiDo you remember the days when almost every advert, every record cover and every surface that could be printed in high gloss showed a similarly designed portrait?
I've had the idea for a picture like this in my head for some time - and today I had time to give it a try.
DAZ render time: just under 2 minutes.
Photoshop fiddling: a cup of coffee and 2 cigarettes ...
Enjoy

Tue, Feb 06, 2024Thank you! Apart from Eurythmics, I remember numerous adverts for liqueurs, perfumes etc. ... but I have also seen this technique in more recent films and series promos. Golden oldies just don't die

that the revolution's near,
but to me it seems quite clear
that it's all just a little bit of history repeating'

I had a similar idea, but using shadow and darkness...still can't get it to work, what's your secret sensei?

Tue, Feb 06, 2024Not a sensei, more of a "knob-twiddler"
Apart from the coffee I mentioned (it was a really, really big one), the main part in DAZ, apart from the overexposure (gamma etc.), was the "vignetting" (negative value). The result was a very pale image. I then rendered another image with "normal" settings and colors.
In Photoshop (also works with Gimp) I then superimposed both images, partially cut out areas of the normal image, merged several layers with different transparency and finally edited the whole thing with the "dodge" tool.

Wed, Feb 07, 2024Oopps 1: hope there is no permanent damage.
Oooops 2: hopefully it wasn't an Assam TGFOP-I "Keyhung" ... one of my favourite teas
Thanks a lot for the boost
