Minimalism - 1 of #
3D Render by EverwildSometimes I find building a scene difficult because it runs up against the minimalist part of my nature. So this time, I tried to lean into it to see if there are ways to appease it, but also express myself. Not an original idea, by any stretch of the imagination, but it was a fun exercise on lighting and posing. It was amazing to discover just how *red* so many female characters are. So much so, that eventually I had to pick the palest skin I could find in order to accomplish what I wanted. I want to do a series of these, just to see if simple images can convey a message.
In doing so, I feel it might be a good idea to open them up to honest feedback. Please just note that if you do decide to share a critique, also offer a constructive solution to the problems you highlight. Also, if there's a better place to look for feedback, I'd love to hear about that, too. I poked through the forums, but the only place that seems to invite feedback also has its fair share of cobwebs.

Nice artistic touch with minimalism. This demonstrates what may be accomplished with a limited range and strong lighting, in a well composed image. It was really creative to use grey tones as black and white skin tones through comparative fulfilment.

The interesting thing about minimalist images: the fewer it contains, the more difficult it is. From lighting to adjusting skin tones (as you described) - it's often much harder to create a minimalist image with little than to use a cluttered environment that already sets the tone for the image.
