THE STORY:
Reza rifled through the glove compartment, fingers brushing past an old pack of gum and a folded map before landing on the flashlight, a sturdy metal one her dad had given her years ago. His voice echoed in her mind as clear as the day he spoke it. "You're the lady of the house now. Time to take life and everything much more seriously." She had rolled her eyes back then, dismissing his advice as another lecture. Tonight though, she wished she’d listened better.

One more night out with her friends had seemed harmless, even necessary. A way to escape the weight of responsibilities she wasn’t ready to carry. Life, as it turned out, didn’t wait for readiness.

The location of the get together, a quiet secluded farmhouse her friends had sworn was “just creepy enough to be fun” was now a source of dread.

The empty roads and thick fog had already set her nerves on edge. Then the thud happened. A sudden, sickening sound that seemed to come out of nowhere, forcing her to swerve on to the overgrown roadside. It wasn’t until she stepped out, flashlight in hand, that she saw the body sprawled on the ground ahead of her. The police uniform told one story, but the crimson stain spreading across his chest told another.

She froze, her breath catching in her throat. And then, her phone buzzed. A text from an unknown number "Turn off the light... They're watching."

NOTES:
Wanted to render something moody like BlueFingers would do. Got the police outfit that came out today, paired it with the gorgeous MSO Reza, added a cute red dress and rendered away. Whittled away at the story in between render runs and now here we are.
