Ivory had spent the whole day roaming her father’s yard, gathering anything round enough to satisfy the strange little tug in her chest she couldn’t explain. By nightfall she dropped to the floor from exhaustion, surrounded by circles, clocks, globes and wheels. She finally rewarded herself with a donut. Just before the first bite, the truth finally hit her.

This wasn’t a day for donuts at all.

She should have gotten pie!

Pi day was 3.14 and that had gotten me thinking. I went down my props drawer and started placing various round'ish products in the scene. But we needed the lovely Ivory in the center of it all, to be present and viewing, to make it matter, to make it weird.
