The only daughter of the first Highland Baron, Samara was courted far and wide by the nobles of Nordaka due to her beauty and feminine character. She finally agreed to marry the Duke of Cambrion, who just happened to be one of the pillars of her father’s political network. Barely a year into their marriage Samara discovered a plot by her new husband to undermine her father’s rule. The naïve Samara made the mistake of confronting her husband with this information, and he consequently had her murdered before she could expose him to her father.

When Samara reached the Spirit Realm she was granted dominion over Lake Skein and given the privilege of testing the will and character of men as she saw fit. This was meant to be a reparation, of sorts, for the injustice she had suffered in the physical realm. She now rules from the depths of this haunted loch, and she exercises her privileges with unbridled enthusiasm.

Duchess Samara is a character from my first full-length medieval fantasy novel. I missed my self-imposed deadline of May 1st, but am now in the final editing stages, and should have it uploaded to Amazon sometime in July (both digital and print versions).
