Security
[the image of Part 1 is still up, but I removed the text]
When you're little you don't think much about falling asleep when you've had a long and fun day at some fare or festival with your parents. Or anywhere else really. You had no reason not to, you felt safe and secure. At least that's how it went for me. All tuckered out yet it's not quite time to go, but that didn't really matter. The following morning I'd wake up in bed at home, never questioning the how or why about it all. As an adult that's something I'd never do because it's simply not a smart or safe thing to do.
I never realized how much that security extended into my adult life, or maybe I'm just naive. I am and have been self sufficient for a long time. As my father's condition worsens it occurred to me that because I had that security in my life I was able to take risks that I otherwise wouldn't have felt comfortable with, especially financial risks. If things didn't pan out I always still had a home with my parents.
We were informed during his last hospital stay, of the many since his diagnoses, that the heart valve replacement he'd had about a decade ago is failing. His immune system is too far gone for him to survive the operation he would need to have the replacement replaced. Between polycythemia vera and adult leukemia, needing a replacement for his heart valve couldn't have come at a worse time. It's a death sentence.
We've been told that his passing will probably be "peaceful," while he sleeps. His prognosis is several weeks at the most if being optimistic, but we've been told realistically the valve will cease functioning "any day," and to make final preparations. Hospice comes to the house daily now.
Father's Day is coming up. Take the opportunity to hug yours and let him know just how much you appreciate him in your life.
Thanks for viewing.

OMG
now I'm sitting here in tears.
I feel with you < 3
How shall I give a like, when it's so devastating sad?
I give the like for the beauty of the render.
