Long before the first colony existed, Dr. Magnus Hale spent years studying strange optical phenomena on uninhabited worlds. During one observation mission, he made a discovery that changed humanity's future.

Watching a rainbow form within a frozen methane atmosphere, Hale realized that the visible arc was only a small section of a complete sphere. The rainbow was not a bridge of light—it was evidence of an invisible dome surrounding the observer.

This revelation inspired the design of the revolutionary Ionosphere Bubble Generator.

When the first prototype was activated on the barren moon Aster-9, Hale personally supervised the test. As the generator released billions of charged particles into the vacuum, a shimmering blue sphere expanded across the surface.
