Abstract

When I first read Marcus Aurelius' "Meditations" in college, his thoughts on duty, resilience, and virtue struck a chord with me. His Stoic philosophy provided clarity and guidance during times when life felt overwhelming. This connection to his teachings inspired me to create a sculpture of him in Zbrush, combining my interest in digital art with the profound impact his words had on my life.

Working on the sculpture, I focused intently on capturing Marcus Aurelius' thoughtful expression and dignified presence. Each stroke in Zbrush became a way to reflect on and internalize his philosophy. The process was not just about creating a likeness but about expressing the Stoic principles that had helped me navigate through challenging times.

Completing the sculpture was a meaningful experience. It felt like a tribute to the wisdom and strength I had found in Marcus Aurelius' teachings. By presenting him as a philosopher in my artwork, I aimed to honor the timeless lessons that had supported me and to inspire others to find strength and wisdom in their own lives.
