3D Render by slofkoskyThis morning I reached for you but all that was left was a hollow in the sheets where you’d been, a fading warmth and I hated how fast the cold moved in. Hated that your scent lingered on the sheets like it missed you as much as I do. Hated the silence that filled the room right after the humming ended and gravity let go. Two hours of drift and all I can think about is how you float away from me each day.
This morning I felt your fingers, clumsy in your gloves, brush my cheek. I pulled myself into you and kissed the only part of you I could reach. I know you couldn’t feel it, not really. But I did. Through the helmet. Through the glass. I felt it. And for a second, we weren’t in orbit or on a schedule. We were just two bodies warm and weightless tangled up in everything we never get time to say.
You taste like memory now. Like sweat and sleep and nights you say my name without words.
Come back to me tonight. I don’t want to lose another moment without you. I want to press my mouth to the hollow of your throat and feel you breathe like you’re still mine.
Don't stay out too long.

This one took FOREVER to put together and rendered in three separate portions, tons of recoloring, blurring, sharpening, etc. I gave up on the outside planet as the items I own for space/solar systems just are too low quality. Ended up, taking NASA image PIA26595 and recolored in Affinity Photo 1.0 to be the planet in the background.
