I felt I wanted to move away from all the gothic Victorian horror I've been doing and try a different era. This has a more Lovecraftian 1920s/ 1030s kind of feel I think, and there's more of a story being told. This came together pretty quickly once I had the idea in my head, but the original creature was going to be all tentacles and slime and hidden more in the shadows, but I couldn't get it to work right. The creature here is a freebie from Sketchfab, and I feels works really well. I've posted the original raw render from C4D to indicate the level of postwork I tend to do in Photoshop.
