Jake Revisited
3D Render by EverwildJake works hard to care for the aging uncle who sacrificed everything to help him become a doctor. With a sister in college and a younger brother he's desperate to shelter, Jake finds himself embroiled in the life of a young, mysterious woman who vanishes from his clinic right after he treats her.
Haunted, even guided by things no one else understands, Lucky only wants to cross the dystopian landscape the US has become to get back to the desert she calls home. As a doctor, Jake believes he knows how to save Lucky from the past she flees. The harder he tries, though, the more he realizes maybe she's not as lost as she seems.

Many of your portraits (and this one is no exception) have a very painterly quality ; the lighting has a Dutch painting feel to it. It's truly elegant and I really like it.

Thu, Jun 18Thank you, seriously. I've been super lucky with all the kind folks who've taken time to show me how to accomplish the best results. Also kudos to those who've doggedly answered my questions. I love doing post work, but I started learning Photoshop at the same time; I'm still the pokiest. However, I've also found a lot of inspiration around here to do more scene work. So, thanks for that, too!

Ok, so Jake is HOT! Just saying. And he has a big heart - sounds like Lucky is lucky His eyes are mesmerizing, Eve. I 100% agree with what Stef3d about the painterly quality of your images. You have definitely learned to nail lighting. I still struggle with lighting, but I just have to keep reminding myself to think about how I did lighting in photography. That usually helps me.

Thu, Jul 02Thank you! It took a few weeks to rebuild him and, to be honest, this version of him looks a little better. In my head his skin has a gray/bluish tint to it that makes the eyes stand out even brighter, but this sage green worked out really well.
