Madeline 4.0 (Raw Render with 1 Edit)
3D Render by slofkoskyThe last couple of renders of Space Crimes included edits to Madeline. I've just been so unhappy with how AI images of the duo, or any output for that matter, look so realistic and my output from Daz Studio has been sorely lacking. Then factor in my frustration of taking Madeline from G8 to G8.1 to G9 utilizing graphs and legacy MAT's has been frustrating to say the least. Try applying lipstick and it ends up on her nose. FRUSTRATING!!!
Fast forward to the last couple of weeks. I created Mads from a default G9, tried using Face Transfer, edited the skin materials and just threw that all out. Utilizing skin from the Snow Queen
NO AI USED, NO EDITS other than the Text overlay.

I completely agree with your frustration, thousands and thousands of dollars on hardware, assets, and tutorials, hundreds of hours of practice, and I can crank out beautiful pictures with AI, but not Daz Studio or Poser. Thanks for sharing your amazing work!

Fri, Aug 01, 2025It's so true. It can absolutely kill anyone's desire to render at all. It's like creating a childs stick art image while AI cranked out a masterpiece in two seconds. I'm so glad I'm not alone Robert. Thank you very much for chiming in!
Madeline is a beautiful character.
In my opinion, G8.1 is still the best for portraits and close scenes. G9 has a philtrum issue that just bugs me, along with fewer bones in the face. Although I love Daz Studio, I have trouble coaxing it into giving me something good. (Part of that is my own fault, but..) Needless to say, I feel your pain.
Getting a different skin might help. I reviewed the Snow White character and the texturing of the skin is strange to me. Take a look at her arm. Maybe that's the new style? If you were to download "Portrait of Princess Allura" from my gallery here and zoom it closer, the skin seems more natural. The character is Zelara on the Daz site. It's like gambling to buy characters based on a few little pics!

Fri, Aug 01, 2025Wow, you have a point with the skin looking more natural from what I can tell with the Princess Allura image. Althougth it's a little blurry on the zoom in (probably from RenderHub compressing the image even further), it does feel realistic. I also know what you mean by the philtrum issue as I kind of noticed it too. But, with Victoria 9 HD, she just seemed so amazing, so lifelike, I kind of dove into G9.
With your findings and some of my own similar thoughts, I might jump between my G8.1 version of Madeline and the G9 version. Not sure yet. My 8.1 version had a very flat face and so I might replicate some of the morphs on that one. It just eats up so much time though.
