3D Render by DustRiderStory:
In the heart of the forgotten catacombs beneath the ruined city of Sirelda, Kaelen stood alone, her breath steady despite the oppressive air. The orb in her hand pulsed with ancient energy—stolen from the Skeleton Queen’s inner sanctum only moments before. Its glow painted her gold-trimmed armor in hues of violet and rose. It appeared to be a beacon of defiance against the shadows that crept along the stone walls. She had come not just to capture it's power, but to also confront the one who had twisted the dead into weapons and desecrated the sacred chambers of her ancestors.
From the dark haze emerged two skeletal sentinels, their rusted halberds raised in silent warning. Between them stood the Skeleton Queen, Veydria, her soul dark with cruel amusement. “You return, she said, her voice like dry leaves, “as if you were ever meant to leave.Kaelen didn’t flinch. Her fingers tightened around the orb, and the chamber trembled slightly, as if the stone itself recognized the clash of wills about to unfold. Veydria raised a hand, and the skeletons stepped forward, their bones clattering like distant thunder.
But Kaelen was no longer the young apprentice who had fled in fear years ago. She whispered the invocation her mother had etched into her memory, and the orb flared, casting a radiant shockwave that halted the undead mid-step. Veydria snarled, her cloak billowing as she summoned a torrent of dark flame, but Kaelen was faster. She hurled the orb, its light splitting the gloom like dawn breaking over a battlefield. The chamber erupted in light and fury, and when the dust settled, only Kaelen remained, standing amidst the ruins of the Skeleton Queen’s reign, her eyes reflecting the fire of a legacy reclaimed.
Image Info
The majority of the items used in the image were new purchases from the DAZ 2025 Anniversary Sale. The environment is Dark Corridor which I already had. The majority of Kaelen's outfit I've had a couple months, but I found the perfect figure for it when I got the Van Helsing Character bundle (she has several other morphs dialed in). One thing lead to another, and finally the image and story were born.
The image uses the environment lighting plus 12 additional spotlights, and one directional light, to help give the figures the needed illumination to help them stand out as needed. The environment intensity was also turned down to darken everything a bit, and the white point was adjusted to give the image a better night mood. SY Real Fog Iray VDB and Iray fog and ground fog were used for the fog in the scene.
The scene was setup in DS Pro Beta 4.24.0.3 and rendered using Iray. Minor post work was done using Gimp.
