Ladies in Waiting A Test of RKS's Mina for G9 (and other things)
3D Render by EltucoThis multi-asset fan art spin features Nancy Wheeler and Joyce Byers on Stonemason's Mainstreet USA. The header and posting location suggest the scene is a test of RKS's Mina alone, but there are other good things worth noting as well. Had to put it somewhere...
Nerdadantes's Pinto is a perfect Stranger Things prop, well crafted as are all Nerda's vehicles, with an available paint scheme used in the show. In this scene it's rendered as offered, except for a slight dulling of the exterior paint to better represent Joyce's aging beater.
Stonemason's Mainstreet USA is, as expected, a massively immersive, beautifully crafted setting with lots of detailed props and an array of realistic light settings. It too is 'out of the box' except to expand the road surface scale, as even the Pinto was too large for the parking places. This was rendered moot by the camera angle.
Redmagnet's 'Nancy for Genesis 9' is a canon-faithful celebrity rip with a nice pair of complementary clothing options. In this scene she wears her combat attire without the accompanying baseball bat. She poses well, though her unique features require a gentle touch favoring subtle expressions, and her arched-back pose in the current scene gives her a deceptively busty appearance, though she is most certainly not. Her pendant is parented to her neck, which can require adjustment after some poses, and her jacket might pop a few light artifacts in certain light, but neither are a serious detriment. If you like the source, the character, the show, or have an interest in unique female toons with ready to use contemporary costumes, Nancy deserves a place in your library.
RKS's Mina is well-detailed with textures that suit her well. As with all of RKS's characters, her features are slightly tweaked, in this case a tad sharper than those of the source material, which broadens her appeal. Her body shape is quite nice, though I would apply a little 'naturalization' in more intimate scenes. I also reduced her size, as 'Joyce' is only 5'2".
Mina poses and expresses well. She comes without clothing; in this scene I plopped on Dina's TLOU2 outfit, as I had nothing closer to canon that draped the way I liked. I think Joyce smoked under stress; hence the cigarette.
In short, Mina is a great toon for fan art or scenes involving 'real' characters.
I recommend every asset in this scene.
